Dr. Victor Cebotari (PhD Maastricht University) is a social policy specialist, working with topics of migration, conflict, and child well-being. Currently, Victor is affiliated with Maastricht University, the United Nations University (MERIT Institute) and with the Social Policy Research Institute (SPRI). The geographical areas of interest for Victor is Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Victor applies both quantitative and qualitative research techniques and has in-depth experience in collecting large panel and cross-sectional data.
During his career, Victor was awarded several research awards, including, among others a DAAD-Leibniz and two Marie Curie fellowships. In addition, Victor conducted research and consulting projects for UNICEF, UNDP, NORFACE, NUFFIC, NWO, WOTRO, KNOPAD, and the ILO. He is a member of the teaching staff at Maastricht University, UNU-MERIT, the University College Maastricht, and the University of Mauritius. Victor’s research has been published in high-reach journals, such as Social Science and Medicine (SSM), Population Space and Place (PSP), and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (JEMS).
