Franziska Gassmann has more than 15 years of experience as consultant and adviser to Governments and international organizations on social policy issues in Central and Eastern Europe, countries of former Yugoslavia, the Caucasus and Central Asia. She developed leadership competence as Head of Training and Research Projects, Director of the PhD programme, member of the PhD academic board and the education board of the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, team leader of research and training projects and as owner of my own company. She has a strong research record in the field of applied public policy analysis with a focus on social protection policies, and the measurement of poverty and vulnerability. Main research methods include the quantitative analysis of large household surveys using microeconometric tools. Extensive experience with microsimulations, policy impact assessments, benefit incidence and cost-benefit analysis. Franziska Gassmann has more than 10 years of teaching experience in graduate programmes (MSc, PhD) in the field of welfare state economics and public policy analysis (certified university teacher BKO), executive training programmes, and the supervision of doctoral candidates.
