SPRI Global is supporting HelpAge Myanmar in assessing aspects of a national social pension scheme for individuals age 90+, which is part of the government’s Medium Term Sector Plan for social protection. Through primarily qualitative research methods, SPRI Global is assisting HelpAge Myanmar in understanding key gaps in performance of the social pension scheme, with key activities including:
- Providing research design, guidance, training, analysis and reporting on broad conclusions discerned from the research data
- Investigating the scale and reasons for any instance of exclusion from the social pension
The assignment is carried out in close cooperation with Third Eye Research, Yangon. Extensive qualitative research fieldwork was carried out by the national researchers in selected wards in five states and six townships.
