In support of Oxfam Cambodia, SPRI Global team members carried out a workshop and training during the first week of December 2022, on social accountability mechanisms in social protection programmes in Cambodia.
This workshop was held as part of SPRI Global’s ongoing research assignment in support of Oxfam Cambodia to analyse social accountability mechanisms in social protection in Cambodia.
SPRI Global team members Chris de Neubourg, Julia Karpati and Miriam Carrera provided workshop participants with a conceptual and practical understanding of social accountability in social protection, and the ways in which social accountability has been achieved through various grievance redress and collective accountability mechanisms in Cambodia. The interactive workshop included case studies and discussions on how good governance and social accountability in social protection in Cambodia may be strengthened going forward.
Workshop participants included representatives of Oxfam, Cambodian and international non-governmental organizations, and civil society organizations.
The finalization of this research assignment foresees the delivery of a final report summarizing the key findings of qualitative interviews and desk research on social accountability mechanisms in social protection in Cambodia. SPRI Global is privileged to support Oxfam and civil society organizations in Cambodia in this important research.
